Surfing Baler in Aurora Province

BALER with smaller breaks is great for beginners and for body surfing. The trip to Baler by bus is over 10 hours on a bus but you'l be traveling to one of the Philippines more scenic spots. Even if you don't surf you will find Baler a great place to enjoy the waves. The locals obviously care about their environment because the towns and surrounding areas clean and free from litter. You really notice the difference when you commence the climb up over the mountain into Aurora province. The Baler Boys, as they are known, have been surfing since the 70s but they're more than welcoming to visitors.
.
CATADUANES Catanuanes, as most of the Philippines around six typhoons per year but since it's located off the Pacific Ocean coastal region direct hits by the "eye ofthe storm" are more frequent with winds reaching over 200Km per hour(120 miles per hour ). Its average rainfall is the highest in the Philippines so watch the weather here closely. It's one of the best place for a pioneer EXPERIENCED surfer to explore with over 400 kilometres of shoreline dotted with bays and coves along the eastern side of the island.

WARNING: Most breaks within this region are for experienced surfers only. Beginners are suggested not to surf here.

SIARGAU OFF THE COAST OF SURIGAU PROVINCE IN NORTHESTERN MINDANAU ISLAND HAS BEEN A SURFER'S SECRET FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS and has the most to offer with boards etc. for rent and low budget cottages to stay.

6th Siargao International Surfing Cup

Pansukian Resort Siargao

In the mid 90s we started seeing a growing number of travelers with surfboards heading for this place in the south few of them wanted to broadcast. Now we also have a couple of the resident Siargao cottage and surf board rental owners staying with us as they pass through Manila.
So we had our carpenters build a special storage place on the ground floor of The Townhouse Hotel Manila for surf boards and we have an additional garage space for storing both surf boards and bicycles which our world traveler guests are using. So WELCOME ABOARD. and Make Yourselves "at HOME" on your way to the big waves.

Aurora,Philippines - Surfing

The Philippines is not known for the world's most consistent surf, but it's the world's friendliest with the lowest costs of living. The locals of the Philippines in most cases have no hesitation in sharing their breaks with you if the right respect is shown in return. You need to be somewhat of a pioneer since there are many breaks still unsurfed in the more hard to reach regions while other dream breaks have been surfed by only a few hardy adventurers.

INTINERARY ONE - 21 to 59 days One possible surfer's itinerary could include Baler, Catanduanes and Daet all of which are located generally in the same region. Although close in distance the lack of dependable roads and transport will mean traveling will take more time.

ITINERARY TWO - 21 days because the roads and buses are more dependable in Luzon could include first Zambales, La Union, Vigan and Badoc Island a mile off the coast of Ilocus Sur.

ITINERARY THREE 21 to 59 days traveleing south from Manila could include first Daet, then Samar Island's east coast and Siargao off the northeast coast of Mindanao.
